Parker Griffith must want to be attacked by Wayne Parker...
Anyway by the time the internet was up Brian at flashpointblog.com had already said everything that needs to be said about State Senator Parker Griffith's latest campaign ad where he continues to not want to mention being a Democrat.
Parker Griffith is a Democrat. Say it with me. “Parker Griffith is a Democrat.” Very good.
We have to go through this exercise because in Parker Griffith’s latest ad - an attack ad against Republican Wayne Parker - he conveniently forgets to call himself a Democrat, preferring instead to call himself an “independent.”
The guys at Left in Alabama have written what would be a great response to this ad. I will change a few words (my changes in bold):
Voice over after the Griffith statement: "independent running for Congress"... "What are you ashamed of Mr. Griffith? Wayne Parker is proud to be a member of the Republican party, the party that will protect our jobs, local jobs that are vital to our economy and America's national security.
Mr. Griffith, do you have to hold your nose to run as a "Democrat"? Why do you call yourself an "independent"? Are you ashamed of the liberal Democratic Party of Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank? Are you a "closet liberal"?
You can't hide that fact from the citizens of the fifth district by calling yourself an "independent." If you're ashamed of the party whose platform you pledged to uphold, you need to denounce the Democratic Party and run as an independent instead of trying to pull a fast one on the voters of this district. We deserve better than a candidate who is not completely honest with their constituents.
I'm Wayne Parker and I approved this message."
Why Griffith keeps handing this issue to Wayne Parker is a mystery to me.
