Three questions, two candidates and one hell of a forum...
The "winner" was obvious, John McCain showed confidence in his answers and hit on the answers that showed the difference in the two candidates, Obama came off as someone who was very cautious and he knew this wasn't his crowd.
Need proof Obama lost? Look no further than his supporters claiming McCain "cheated."
But one of them DID have the questions ahead of time, as proven below. The following is evidence that either McCain was NOT in a quiet room during Obama's interview OR that he indeed had the questions ahead of time. If Obama was not provided the questions as well, then McCain clearly cheated.
In a Church even, how brazen.
Bush stole the election in 2000, Bush cheated in the 2004 debates, Bush stole the election in 2004 and now McCain is cheating. Can a Republican ever "win"?
Anyway, like I said there were three questions that proved Obama was clearly out of his element and leads me to believe these upcoming debates should be very interesting.
Here they are:(Paraphrased)
- What would be the greatest moral failing in your life?
- Who are the wisest people you know and who will you use in your administration?
- Does evil exist?
Both candidates gave answers that included "failings" the American public already knows about. Obama talked about his drug use and his drinking when he was a teenager while McCain talked about his first marriage failing being his fault.
Partisans on both sides have tried/will continue to try and use these issues to attack the opposition's candidate, but Obama's answer is laughable because it implies he has not done anything in his life worse than trying drugs and drinking when he was a teenager, safe BS answer but it was not believable.
Who are the wisest people you know and who will you use in your administration?
Obama went to the sappy my wife and my grandmother are the wisest people I know. Awwwww, you mean your wife that has already been completely marginalized and your racist grandmother?
Your wife and grandmother? This is not Oprah or Ellen, this is a political forum.
He followed that crap up with one of the biggest blunders of the evening, "Ted Kennedy."
Ted Kennedy? One of the single most polarizing figures in America today? Your gonna get a lot of crossover voters with brilliant answers like that.
McCain gave some interesting answers too. First he referenced Gen. David Petraes, "who took us from defeat to victory in Iraq" to again reemphasize his strong national security focus, something he needs to drive home as the biggest difference between he and Obama.
His other answers on this subject included a civil rights leader and a former eBay CEO who he called "an American success story."
Didn't he have a problem with "google" a while ago?
Does evil exist?
The answer to this question is a no-brainer.
Ask me what evil is and I would probably say "Those who planned and executed 9/11 and those killing our soldiers in Iraq."
McCain hit an absolute home run on this answer, a definitive answer about defeating evil and following Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell, he then talked about mentally disabled suicide bombers in Iraq.
Obama however, gave a rambling answer that included talk of "humility" in the face of evil, this is the perfect answer for a far left candidate. Full of capitulation, appeasement and moral relativism.
Evil is evil and the U.S. and while we may not always be right, the U.S. has led the way in confronting evil across the globe and for a major political candidate to hem and haw on this issue is very telling.
Overall this forum was a great look at these candidates in an unusual environment and it gives us a much better look at these guys as people and politicians. Last night McCain beat Obama on both counts.
If you have not seen this forum and you plan on voting in November, you need to watch it. (Click here)
