Attorney General Troy King's office is teaming up with The Humane Soceity of the United States to end cockfighting and dog fighting in Alabama.

The Humane Society is offering a $5,000 award for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person involved in illegal animal fighting.

"Animal fighting is a horribly cruel practice and anyone who participates in it should pay a price for their crime," said King, at a press conference Wednesday. "We are glad to partners with The Humane Society of the United States to offer this new reward and help put those who fight animals out of business for good."
