Today I had Sen. Griffith on my radio show... he also told me that he would not reveal his choice for President in '08 because it is a 'secret ballot.' Seriously, that was his response. It is not like I asked the Secretary of State to reveal his vote or for him to let me go in the booth with him. He is staking this position out because he knows it will be hard to operate in DC if he is quoted in the press saying he supports John McCain and he knows he can't get there by supporting Barack Obama. (WVNN Talk Show Host Dale Anthony's Blog, 08/04/2008)Who the hell is "Dale Anthony?"

I can't imagine that link will be up long but here are some screen captures.Barack's Baby Mama Convention Watch Abortion Party (Convention Watch Party)We will watch the event and then all get abortions. Bring your mistakes and get them taken care of. The mistakes can even be a few weeks old and we will consider it abortion. It will be held at Madison County Planned Parenthood.

There are three things to note:Labels: abortion, alabama, Barack Obama, Dale Jackson, election
Special drives will be held Sept. 21-27 to register homeless and low-income people to vote to coincide with the registration deadlines of most states. The last day to register to vote in the November election in Alabama is Oct. 24.
Local activist Kenneth Glasgow will visit jails and prisons throughout the state this weekend to register inmates to vote.
John Cook Thomas would like to cast his vote in the November election for Barack Obama.Tell me why my well informed opinion should be canceled out by a guy sleeping on a park bench.
"When you're homeless you have a lot of issues you're dealing with," said Michael Stoops, project director for the 'You Don't Need a Home to Vote' campaign. "But some homeless folks are up on current events."Right. Sleeping under a newspaper does not help you absorb what is in it.
Perhaps we need to go back to colonial days when only white men who possessed land were eligible to vote. No women allowed!! NO black people could vote but they were counted as 3/5 of a person for representation purposes. If we're going to take one step backwards, why not go all the way back..Nowhere did I claim that voting should be restricted based on race, gender or socio-economic class. My point is simple, WE SHOULD NOT BE BEGGING PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROCESS OF VOTING.

But one of them DID have the questions ahead of time, as proven below. The following is evidence that either McCain was NOT in a quiet room during Obama's interview OR that he indeed had the questions ahead of time. If Obama was not provided the questions as well, then McCain clearly cheated.
In a Church even, how brazen.
Bush stole the election in 2000, Bush cheated in the 2004 debates, Bush stole the election in 2004 and now McCain is cheating. Can a Republican ever "win"?
Anyway, like I said there were three questions that proved Obama was clearly out of his element and leads me to believe these upcoming debates should be very interesting.
Here they are:(Paraphrased)
The answer to this question is a no-brainer.
Ask me what evil is and I would probably say "Those who planned and executed 9/11 and those killing our soldiers in Iraq."
McCain hit an absolute home run on this answer, a definitive answer about defeating evil and following Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell, he then talked about mentally disabled suicide bombers in Iraq.
Obama however, gave a rambling answer that included talk of "humility" in the face of evil, this is the perfect answer for a far left candidate. Full of capitulation, appeasement and moral relativism.
Evil is evil and the U.S. and while we may not always be right, the U.S. has led the way in confronting evil across the globe and for a major political candidate to hem and haw on this issue is very telling.
Overall this forum was a great look at these candidates in an unusual environment and it gives us a much better look at these guys as people and politicians. Last night McCain beat Obama on both counts.
If you have not seen this forum and you plan on voting in November, you need to watch it. (Click here)

...For instance, The National Enquirer had such specific details of the Edwards trip to the hotel in Beverly Hills that he could have sued them for libel if it weren't true. And as sleazy as these publications are, The Enquirer was credited with being one of the more accurate sources on the Lewinsky scandal. Then the charges...
So it's not surprising that there's been a persistent tabloid story that the corporate establishment media has been ignoring: allegations that Laura Bush has basically decided to part company with Junior after his term of office is over again. Here are some screen shots from this week's Globe, one of the "leading" tabloids:
And finally, the evidence...
Idiots.Bush held up the American flag backwards; he tapped a small U.S. flag impatiently against his thigh during the opening ceremony (a dishonoring of the flag); and he slapped the backside of a young nubile female volleyball player (no, we are not making this up):
This begs the question whether Bush had returned, in full, to his Frat boy days at Yale, including getting high on the sauce. Wonkette, for one, asked the question, "Was Bush Falling Down Drunk At Olympics?"
So you can rightfully disdain the sensationalism of the tabloids, but sometimes our guess is that on political scandals, they get closer to the truth than the corporate mainstream media -- or at least they are one step ahead of them.
Bush's behavior at the Olympics should have been a national scandal, but big media just shrugged it off as jocular good fun.
Is Bush a "Dry Drunk"? This is a Serious, Not Just a Provocative Question (clearly a serious question)and
Bush - Stoned? Drunk? Medicated? Retarded? Presidential Tester for the Pharmaceutical Industry? You Decide........ (retarded?)"Retarded" indeed.

Bud Cramer: Conservative Blue Dog or Pelosi's Lap Dog...I asked if Cramer was as conservative as he and State Senator Parker Griffith would have you believe he is.
A lot has been made about State Senator Parker Griffith being the heir apparent to Representative Bud Cramer's conservative "Blue Dog" label in North Alabama. Well, if Griffith wants to use Cramer as an ally in his election battle against Wayne Parker he may want to tell Cramer to stop proving that "Blue Dog Democrats" still vote with "Nancy Pelosi Democrats" 93% of the time.Well, Flashpointblog.com has done the legwork and the analysis to drive the point home in a post titled, "Bud Cramer: From Blue Dog to Lap Dog."
Since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007 Cramer has voted with his party a shocking 90% of the time - 10% more than when he almost got voted out of office. See how his “independence” shifts with the political winds in Washington in the figure below.Visit the link and read more here.

When they came for the radio I said nothing for I did not have a show, when they came for the bloggers there was no one left to speak... blah blah blah
FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell raised that as a possibility after talking with bloggers at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. McDowell spoke about a recent FCC vote to bar Comcast from engaging in certain Internet practices – expanding the federal agency’s oversight of Internet networks.
The poll shows that less want "Fairness Doctrine" on the internet (31% ) than on the radio/TV (47%):
Democrats are more supportive of government involvement in the airwaves than Republicans and unaffiliated voters. Fifty-four percent (54%) of Democrats favor it, and only 26% are opposed. Republicans and unaffiliated voters are fairly evenly divided.
Even Democrats say hands-off the Internet though but by a far smaller margin than Republicans and unaffiliated voters. Democrats oppose government-mandated balance on the Internet by a 48% to 37% margin. Sixty-one percent (61%) of Republicans reject government involvement in Internet content along with 67% of unaffiliated voters.
But allow me to ask this question:
Is there a risk of a political tit-for-tat in that Democrats push a radio/TV "Fairness Doctrine" and Republicans hypocritically push for internet control?
Maybe this is a move by both parties to control the internet?
Let's see what those at "Left in Alabama" think about losing their freedom to voice their opinions. I am going to guess they will be pretty inconsistent.

Can you point to one host anywhere advocating violence? What exactly do they say that led to this?Chances are you will hear a couple of different responses:
Hate talk on the radio is no different than some hate rappers who espouseThis...
violence in their songs. It all has the same impact on someone as weak-minded as
this shooter was. Republicans are quick to rail against the rapper but I'm sure
you'll never hear a peep out of them about this person's reading habits. Of
course, I'm sure Rush Limbaugh will be quick to point the finger of blame on
liberals.... "My friend, if liberals didn't hate this country so much, ordinary
people such as this man wouldn't feel the need to take action. It isn't it fault
that our government hasn't altogether outlawed liberalism. I'll bet you they
wouldn't be able to run down our president and our government overseas." (meaning: "They may not be saying "be violent," but they mean it")
and This... (my favorite)Why is it that someone can mass murder or commit an assassination and if their
reading material is of a more liberal matter, it's automatically reported by the
conservative media that he was "brainwashed", without so much as a psychological
exam but if it's someone who reads right wing hate books and talks about killing
liberals, his reading material had nothing to do with it and we need to show
proof if we think differently. (meaning: "But... but... but.. if it was
a liberal the right-wingers would be all over it." Probably, but they would be wrong and I would ask for a reference showing someone inciting violence.)
No actual facts that we produce for him are going to change his rant. NoThe point is the argument "that conservative commentators are to blame for this" can not be backed up because none of them have advocated or excused political violence. None, not one.
direct quotes matter. No proof that his allegations are indeed, to use his
own words, "bull shit" will make any impression. (meaning: "We are talking out our asses and we can not find anything to back up our asinine positions." This is the position of intellectually dishonest cowards who will not acknowledge they are making things up to fit their political agenda.
I was thinking more of copycats. I do hope that talk radio handles this in a very circumspect manner. Too many guys in the south with beer, radios, trucks and guns.Here.
I will be looking to see if shooter is/was talk radio rightwing nut.
This is my current "default option" for "why did this happen" to people in the way of the GOP.
Sue me for thinking this - It's become a pattern and these rats are against a wall.
I expect MORE of this because I think this is what rightwing talk radio is supposed to accomplish.
My gut guess was lost job - blamed democrats
because talk radio encourages this. But I am quite open to learning what really happened.
I just have a sneaky suspicion about talk radio's intentions being more malicious than most people would care to imagine.

Parker Griffith is a Democrat. Say it with me. “Parker Griffith is a Democrat.” Very good.
We have to go through this exercise because in Parker Griffith’s latest ad - an attack ad against Republican Wayne Parker - he conveniently forgets to call himself a Democrat, preferring instead to call himself an “independent.”
The guys at Left in Alabama have written what would be a great response to this ad. I will change a few words (my changes in bold):
Voice over after the Griffith statement: "independent running for Congress"... "What are you ashamed of Mr. Griffith? Wayne Parker is proud to be a member of the Republican party, the party that will protect our jobs, local jobs that are vital to our economy and America's national security.
Mr. Griffith, do you have to hold your nose to run as a "Democrat"? Why do you call yourself an "independent"? Are you ashamed of the liberal Democratic Party of Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank? Are you a "closet liberal"?
You can't hide that fact from the citizens of the fifth district by calling yourself an "independent." If you're ashamed of the party whose platform you pledged to uphold, you need to denounce the Democratic Party and run as an independent instead of trying to pull a fast one on the voters of this district. We deserve better than a candidate who is not completely honest with their constituents.
I'm Wayne Parker and I approved this message."
Why Griffith keeps handing this issue to Wayne Parker is a mystery to me.

Now, we get to the most relevant question - if John Edwards' political career is done, why isn't John McCain's? John McCain had a well-documented affair on his first wife, with his current wife. He has admitted in the books he has written about his life that he ran around with several different women while still married to his first wife. And don't forget that he left her for a younger, richer woman - multi-millionaire Cindy Hensley who is now Cindy McCain - after she had been severely hurt in a car accident. (It was 30 years ago, before he was in politics and it has been known for years and therefore not news.)Here.
Why has the press kept digging at this case but dropped so many others? Because the corporations that control most of the media in this country are peeing their pants at the thought of Attorney General John Edwards and feel the need to assassinate his character now to try and preempt any role he might have in an Obama administration. (They willfully ignored it for almost a year.)Here.
What is our obsession with this story- or at least the media’s obsession? And all that righteous puffery blowing from the “right”. How could have done this? Well- how could Senator Vitter have done it, how could Senator Craig have done it? The list goes on- but it would also include the question; how could John McCain do it? (Should we have ignored Vitter and Craig?)Here.
Now you can say, "well these are left wing cranks" and you would be right, these are the same sites that cry about "right-wing media bias." But predictably, it has also been brought up on all the major news channels, not as insanely as the posts above, but brought up as a defense nonetheless. And therein lies the major problem - THERE IS NO DEFENSE.OK, so now we know the new ground rules. The private life of John Edwards, who currently neither seeks nor holds public office, is a legitimate story for mainstream media because he was a hypocrite and because he lied.
As for hypocrisy, check out Alabama's chief law enforcement officer, who says the state can put someone in jail for up to one year for selling a sex toy. (Did Troy King get caught using sex toys? This guy makes quite a stretch here, but I mostly added this one because he talks about ME. I love me.)

Friday afternoon: check"I have no idea what you're asking about," Edwards said. "I have responded to, consistently, to these tabloid allegations by saying I don't respond to these lies."Sound familiar?
The media may have been hesitant to go after this because of the health of his wife.Translation: the media was in the tank for Edwards. And the press should be killing him right now because he did this while his wife was dying.

Attorney General Troy King's office is teaming up with The Humane Soceity of the United States to end cockfighting and dog fighting in Alabama.Like Matt Murphy (who can't work a computer) said, "you can't make this stuff up."
The Humane Society is offering a $5,000 award for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person involved in illegal animal fighting.
"Animal fighting is a horribly cruel practice and anyone who participates in it should pay a price for their crime," said King, at a press conference Wednesday. "We are glad to partners with The Humane Society of the United States to offer this new reward and help put those who fight animals out of business for good."

Wow. I was starting to read some of this story about how the DOJ, the State of Alabama, the Nazis, Exxon, the media and the Illuminati are taking a guy at UAB down for blogging.Well maybe he was on to something, because a few days after Dan at DailyDixie.com got into with the Legal Beagle (here), Dan quit his website and left this message.
I'm done blogging for now. There's no sinister reason. I recently decided not to shut down because of stupid people. I'm glad I didn't do it for that reason, but it made me seriously think about it. I think I'd rather work on some other areas of my life I've been neglecting. I think my registration for this domain has a couple more years of life left in it. Perhaps I shall return. Maybe I'll let someone take over where I left off. Feel free to email -- dan@dailydixie.com.Did Daily Dixie come under the evil eye of Rove, Riley, Bush & Cheney by associating with the most dangerous pup on the internet?
Thanks for all the support over the years. My entire outlook on life has changed because of your comments and emails.
And kids... don't do blogs. You might think you can walk away, but it's rough.
Hugs and kisses,
Dan
Roberts took down the whole darn thing evidently. It's like waking up one morning to discover the house next door, which was there when you went to bed, is gone.Paranoid? Yes.
Did someone suggest to Roberts that maybe it would be a good idea to dismantle his blog and dump any evidence that indicated he had been producing defamatory material?
Heck, I don't know. I'm as buffaloed as anybody, and if my memory is correct, his final post was about me.
Roberts' writings recently had a Karl Rovian quality, with frequent use of variations on the word "lunatic." And Roberts' dismantling of his blog reminds one of Rove's efforts to do away with e-mails. But then, I could be reading too much into this--after all, I'm paranoid

The McCain camp responded to Hilton's ad Tuesday. "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America's energy crisis - including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan," says McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.
